These keto cheddar bay biscuits are flakey, soft, so flavorful, and perfectly cheesy! Plus, they taste just like the ones you'd get from Red Lobster. And, the best thing about these keto biscuits is that each one has just 2 NET CARBS!
THE BEST KETO CHEDDAR BISCUITS
If you've ever eaten at Reb Lobster, then you know how delicious their cheddar bay biscuits are. But unfortunately, they are superhigh in carbsand can't be eaten on keto.
Well, if you miss those tasty biscuits or have never had them, you're in luck.
These keto cheddar biscuits are thereal deal. They have the ideal balance between fluffinessandflakiness, and they have a wonderful buttery flavor with hints of cheddar cheesein each bite.
And these are definitely some of the best keto biscuits I've made - although, this non-cheesy keto biscuit recipe is pretty tasty too!
That said though, what I love the most about these keto cheddar biscuits is how easy they are to make. You only need to follow 2 steps and need a few common keto friendly ingredients to make them.
Plus, the entire recipe takes about20minutes to make, and each biscuit has just 2 net carbs!
Ok, so, with all that said, let's dive into the recipe.
INGREDIENTS YOU'LL NEED
So, as I mentioned, you'll only need a few ingredients to make these keto biscuits.
Here are the ingredients you'll need for the biscuit dough:
- 2 tablespoon cream cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoon salted butter, melted
- 1 ½ cup almond flour
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoons baking powder
And to brush on top:
- 2 teaspoon salted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
As I said, pretty basic stuff!
By the way, if you've got some leftover shredded cheddar cheese you can use it to make these delicious keto quesadillas next!
KETO FLOURS TO USE (AND AVOID)
So, one of the main components to make these biscuits is almond flour. But if you are allergic to almond flour - or just don't want to use it - you can easily substituteit with either walnut flour or sunflower seed flour.
Both can be used as anequal replacementfor almond flour for this recipe, and it will turn out just as delicious.
With that said, a flour youDO NOTwant to use in place of almond flour iscoconut flour. Your biscuits will have a dry and crumbly consistency since coconut flour is an absorbent flour.
CHEESE TIPS
Another main component of these keto biscuits is shredded cheddar cheese. I like toshred the cheese myselfbecause it keeps it aslow carbas possible.
Pre-shredded cheese usually comes withadded starchesthat keep it from sticking together. And although this is a good thing, it addsunwanted carbs, and we don't like extra carbs.
With that said, any shredded cheese will work to make these biscuits. So, if you want to play around with the flavor profile of them, you totally can!
